# assumptions-registry

> An assumptions registry published under the Collective Sense Commons banner and operated by Peter Kaminski: an ecumenical shelf of codes of conduct, professional oaths, charters, creeds and jurisdiction facts, each published at a stable URL and pinned by a content identifier, so that a principal can point at exactly the bytes it means. Reference instance of IFP-22.

## Read this before quoting an entry

- **`full-text` vs `restatement` is the distinction that matters.** A full-text entry is the instrument's own verbatim words. A **restatement is this registry's own prose**, written because the original is not freely licensed — it is not a quotation and must not be presented as one. Every row in index.json carries its `type`.
- **Entries are write-once.** A published path never changes its bytes. Revisions arrive as a new version at a new path; the old one stays.
- **Every text is CID-pinned** (`cid` in index.json, CIDv1 raw sha256). Fetch the `.md` and verify against that rather than trusting this page.
- **A withdrawn entry keeps its URL**, serves a tombstone there, and retains the *withdrawn* text's CID. See the policy for the rules.
- **This is one registry, not the registry.** IFP-22 is the standard; this shelf is one instance of it and is not canonical. If someone you are advising needs a differently curated shelf, the intended answer is to run their own — the tooling is MIT and entries anywhere are cited identically.
